For Cheryl, excellence is not just a goal; it’s a daily standard. “In my professional life here at Empire Roofing/Tecta, we strive for excellence every single day. Reflecting on her experiences, Cheryl shares, “In my twenties, I had a mentor who pushed me to do things that made me uncomfortable. He said that most growth happens when you are uncomfortable, and to embrace the feeling and work through it.” This mindset led her to take on leadership roles in both regional and national roofing associations, where she made a lasting impact in a male-dominated industry.

When Empire Roofing began 42 years ago, Ronnie McGlothlin bought himself a Rolex as a symbol of success. Playfully, his employees asked when they would get theirs. Ronnie jokingly replied, “When you’ve been with me for 10 years!” True to his word, as the company grew and prospered, he turned that lighthearted promise into a heartfelt tradition.
